Temporary Housing

To create a full picture, the history of temporary housing must be added to that of the reconstruction. After the bombings of 5th and 6th September 1944, the reconstruction of Le Havre becomes a national priority.

Providing accommodation for 35 000 people leads to building temporary housing schemes while waiting for eventual reconstruction, this part of the history of the town will last more than fifteen years.
