The Porte Océane and Cruise Ship Terminal seen from Saint Vincent District.

Reasons for the listing

The city rebuilt by Auguste Perret is now part of the prestigious group of sites belonging to the World Heritage List of Unesco. Belonging to World Heritage means being unique. Unesco grants the privilege to sites presenting very specific characteristics

What notions are these? As regards the reconstructed city, how can World Heritage be defined? Emblematic site of French post-war reconstruction, Le Havre asserted its exceptional universal value in 2005.
